House text alerts.
What our house texts say, who gets them, and exactly how people sign up and stop.

What this is
The GrowthWorks Collective, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Fairfield County, Ohio, runs residential houses. Our house system sends a few short text messages from (740) 675-8167. Every message is operational. None includes health information, and none names any person, program or service.
- Staff alerts: a request to check on a common area, a request to approve a guest's door code, or a notice that a house system is offline.
- Guest door codes: the door code for the night, only for guests who ask for it.
How people sign up
There are exactly two ways to sign up. Both use a short paper form, filled out in person. We do not sign anyone up by text keyword, by website form, or by buying lists, and we never text anyone who has not signed up.
1. Staff and peer supporters
- When a staff member or peer supporter joins GrowthWorks, the house manager gives them the Staff text alerts sign-up form (web version).
- They write their name, role and mobile number. To get texts, they check the box that reads: "I agree to receive work alerts by text from The GrowthWorks Collective at this number. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Privacy: growthworkscollective.org/privacy.html. Terms: growthworkscollective.org/terms.html." Then they sign and date it.
- The house manager enters the number into the house system only if the box is checked, and keeps the form in the staff file.
- The house system sends one confirmation text: "GrowthWorks: you'll get house texts at this number. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out."
- Signing up is not a condition of the job. Alerts can also reach staff by phone call.
2. Guests (optional)
- When a guest checks in at a GrowthWorks house, staff hand them the Door code by text sign-up form (web version).
- If the guest wants their door code by text, they write their first name or initials and mobile number and check the box that reads: "Text me my door code at this number. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."
- The form says plainly that checking the box is never required to get a bed or any service. Guests who do not check it get their code in person or by phone.
- Staff enter the number into the house system only if the box is checked.
- The house system sends one confirmation text (the same wording as above), then the door code on the nights the guest stays.
Sample messages
- "GrowthWorks house alert: please check on the common area at the Origin house now. Reply STOP to opt out."
- "GrowthWorks: a guest arriving tonight needs a door code. Open the staff app to approve or deny. Reply STOP to opt out."
- "GrowthWorks: your door code for tonight is 4821. It works 9 pm to 7 am. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."
Stopping and help
Reply STOP at any time and we stop texting that number. Reply HELP for help, or call (740) 683-9339 or email hello@growthworkscollective.org. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.
This is not a crisis line. In a crisis, call or text 988. In immediate danger, call 911.
How we handle phone numbers is in our Privacy Policy. The rules for this program are in our Terms of Use. We never share phone numbers or text sign-ups with anyone for marketing.
